The Buda Castle Experience pilot demonstrates how European citizens and visitors can enjoy easier, smarter, and more secure access to cultural attractions using their EUDI Wallet.
This initiative brings digital innovation into one of Budapest's most iconic historical locations by enabling fully digital ticketing, entrance, and payments — all while preserving privacy and giving full control to the user.
At the heart of the experience is the European Digital Identity Wallet, which allows users to verify their identity digitally and access services in a secure and user-friendly way. Visitors to Buda Castle can use the wallet to purchase museum tickets online, pay using integrated payment solutions, and store their verifiable ticket directly in the wallet. Upon entry, the ticket can be presented via QR code or proximity-based technologies, allowing fast and seamless access to exhibitions.
The Buda Castle Experience is more than a technical demonstration — it is a real-world pilot of what the future of public and cultural services could look like.
